Anna Kournikova is without a doubt one of the most beautiful women in the world. This Russian beauty is a retired professional tennis player. She was born on June 7, 1981, in Russia. She is an only child. Her father, Sergei Kournikov, is a former Greco-Roman wrestling champion. After ending his wresting career, he earned a PhD and started working as a professor at the University of Physical Culture and Sports in Moscow. Her mother, Alla Kournikov, is a former 400-meter runner. She gave birth to Anna when she was only 18 years old. Sergei was only one year older, becoming a father at the age of 19. As both her parents were sportspeople, no wonder that Anna was introduced to the tennis world at an early age.

She was only 5 years old when she received her first tennis racket. At first, she recalls playing tennis twice a week in a children’s program, just for fun. As she was playing very well, she decided to go professional and went to a professional academy. When she was only 8 years old, she was already appearing in junior tournaments and was attracting attention from tennis scouts worldwide. After arriving in the United States, Anna rose to prominence on the tennis scene. She started to win numerous tournaments worldwide and became the youngest player to win the 18-and-under division of the Junior Orange Bowl tennis tournament. Her success was over the top and her career was going extremely well. Although she did not manage to win a WTA singles title, she was ranked number 8 in the world in 2000. This was her best performance. In 2004, she retired from playing professiona tennis due to chronic lower back trouble. 



Regarding her education, Anna graduated from high school in 1997 and attended Russian University of Physical Culture. Despite her not winning a WTA singles title, Anna Kournikova managed to become one of the best known tennis players in the world.
